Deputy Fire Marshals are responsible for performing entry level through journey level specialized life safety and fire prevention duties. Complete basic to complex plan review of residential and commercial construction projects, conduct annual business, and state mandated inspections to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal fire code and regulations. Conduct weed abatement and hazard reduction inspections and perform tests and certification of fire protection systems. Incumbents also conduct fire safety and prevention education programs, and additional duties as assigned.
